City Hall

We recommend you come using public transportation. If you plan on coming by car, we recommend you park outside the city and get to the 14the arrondissement city hall using metro or RER. The closest stations are Mouton-Duvernet (350m) for the métro and Denfert-Rochereau (550m) for the RER.

IMPORTANT: Line 4 of the metro is partially closed in the center of Paris this month. While it remains open at both Mouton-Duvernet and Denfert-Rochereau, you can no longer get there directly from gare de l’Est.

You can use the transport system’s website to plan your trip. All Paris region transport tickets cost 2.55€, except tickets from either airport which cost 14€.

Getting there directly from airports and train stations

In case you plan to arrive in Paris on Saturday morning, here are some directions :

  • From Roissy Charles de Gaule airport, take RER B to Denfert-Rochereau (about 45 min).
  • From Orly airport, two options :
    • Orlyval, changing in Anthony for RER B to Denfert-Rochereau (about 25 min);
    • Métro 14, changing in Bercy for Métro 6 to Denfert-Rochereau (about 30 min). This lets you take line 6 which is an overground métro, and goes over the Seine on the Pont de Bercy, so this is clearly the superior option.
    • Of note : the Orlybus shuttle, which went directly to Denfert-Rochereau until 2025, has been discontinued.
  • From Gare du Nord (including Eurostar trains from UK/Benelux/North Germany), take RER B to Denfert-Rochereau (about 10 min).
  • From Gare de l’Est, take Métro 4 to Les Halles, and change for RER B to Denfert-Rochereau (about 25 min).
  • From Gare de Lyon, take Métro 14, changing in Bercy for Métro 6 to Denfert-Rochereau (about 20 min)
  • From Gare de Bercy, take Métro 6 to Denfert-Rochereau (about 15 min)
  • From Gare d’Austerlitz, take Métro 5, changing in Place d’Italie for Métro 6 to Denfert-Rochereau (about 15 min)
  • From Gare Montparnasse :
    • you’re so close it’s simplest to walk down rue du Château (if exiting through the South entrance) or avenue du Maine (if existing through the North entrance) to the city hall (about 1km);
    • Métro 4 to Mouton-Duvernet is also an option, but you’ll probably waste more time reaching the métro station from the train station than it would have taken you to walk outside.
  • From Gare St-Lazare, either :
    • take Métro 12 or 13 and change in Montparnasse-Bienvenüe for Métro 4 to Mouton-Duvernet (about 20 min)
    • take Métro 13 to Pernety and walk from there (about 15 min then 800m walk)

Clos du Colombier

The festivities will take place 50-ish kilometers from Paris. Parking space is available on site for people coming by car.

Unfortunately, the site is not easily reached using city transports. The closest station is at Tournan, on line P of the regional train (transilien) and RER line E, which are both available from gare de l’Est.

We were not able to ensure everyone has a spot in a car, but we’ll be able to ferry people to the wedding relatively fast from Tournan.

IMPORTANT: Because of work on lines P and E:

  • Marles-en-Brie station which is slightly closer is unavailable this week-end;
  • The last train for Paris leaves Tournan at 21:23, which is way too early. If you need to get back to Paris and don’t have a car, we’ll make sure you catch the second-to-last replacement bus that leaves at 23:34 from Tournan and takes about 45 min to get to gare de l’Est. Of note : the replacement bus after that one is MUCH slower (takes 2h30 to get to Paris).

Sleeping

In a tent

The parking lot has some room, with grass, for about 20 tents. As things stand now, there is still some room, but the grass might be pretty yellow from the repeated heatwaves.

If you wish to sleep in your vehicle on the parking lot, you can of course do so.

In a house, with a real bed while supplies last

We have booked a house in Tournan-en-Brie (14km from the Clos du Colombier), the Clos de la Gare, 50 rue Georges Clémenceau. It comes with 3 double beds and 8 single beds (in a total of 5 bedrooms), plus ample space for camping mattresses on the floor.

Sadly, it is now pretty full and no longer available if you didn’t already ask us.

In a hotels

Sadly, all hotels at Fontenay-Trésigny are now fully booked, and a hotel was requisitionned for emergency housing and cancelled all our reservations.

If you do not already have a reservation elsewhere, le Royaume des Lions in Lumigny-Nesles-Ormeaux (6km from the site) seems to be the only hotel which still has vacancies. It has fully wheelchair-accessible rooms.
